Dust City Nominated for the 2012 Red Maple Award

Good news, everyone. Dust City has been nominated for the Red Maple Award by the Ontario Library Association!

This award is part of the Forest of Reading program, in which students from across Ontario read each of the nominated titles and vote on their favourite (it’s the same program as the Silver Birch Award, which was awarded to Zorgamazoo in 2010).

Also, check out the interactive site Red Maple Online, where readers can connect with other participants, discuss the nominated books, and even upload videos in support of their favourites.

Thanks to the OLA and the countless librarians and teachers who run the program. This is a wonderful honour and I look forward to having my bones rattled once again, on-stage in front of thousands of screaming book-lovers.
